As part of a recent consultancy project, I had the privilege of helping an organization build a stronger global leadership community. With hundreds of leaders spread across different countries and cultures, we wanted to create something that went beyond job titles and LinkedIn bios—something more human, engaging, and memorable.
I’ve seen the power of Personal Profiles in action before: at Creators Club events, where they spark meaningful connections; in schools, where they help teachers become more relatable to students; and at leadership events, where they have effectively connected 100+ people in a meaningful way. But this project raised an even bigger question—what about doing it online for remote workers?
The result? Personal Profiles—a creative initiative inviting each leader to introduce themselves in a way that reflects their personality, passions, and leadership style. The goal was simple: help people connect on a personal level and foster genuine relationships within the community.
But we didn’t stop there. These profiles will eventually be displayed in an Augmented Reality online gallery—a cutting-edge way to make leadership feel more personal, interactive, and alive. Pretty cool, right?

Getting the Ball Rolling
To set the tone and spark creativity, I decided to challenge myself—not just to write a profile, but to craft it in rhyming couplets, blending both my personal and professional narrative. And to bring it even more to life, I paired each line with a photo that visually represents my journey.
✨ Introducing Myself ✨
Born in Newcastle, a Geordie at heart
A voyage to India, a leadership start
A life in London, is where I call home
My free time improvising, silliness I’m prone
Crafting and making, I always give it a go
Hitting the yoga mat, to rekindle my flow
Passionate about football, it’s in my bones
Loving my partner, feeling we’re not alone
Giving back, through volunteering I care
Playing tennis for fun, feeling the wind in my hair
Rooted by family, so much gratitude and fun
Gymnastics a new hobby, I’ve only just begun
Connecting people, is the root of my work
Unlocking ideas, in the closet they lurk
Building teams, with cultural gel
Lighting the sparks, I know so well
Post-its and flip charts, never far away
Empowering people, infusing work with play
Hand on heart, in authenticity we can be
Great members of community, you and me
A designer turned coach, consultant and guide
A pen never far, to scribble and scribe
Training rooms or Zoom, groups large and small
Thanks to poetry, for now that is all!

Why This Matters?
This exercise wasn’t just for fun (though it was!). It was about demonstrating that leadership is more than a title—it’s about who you are as a person. By embracing creativity, storytelling, and self-expression, we make it easier to connect, relate, and inspire one another.
When we strip away the formality and invite authenticity, we build stronger teams, more engaged communities, and a sense of belonging that no org chart can replicate.
So, what would your Personal Profile look like? How would you creatively introduce yourself to your peers? I’d love to hear! Drop a comment or share your own version. Let’s bring leadership to life, one story at a time ✨
